Reading Comprehension
In grades 4 and 5, students are learning to move beyond sounding out words and into understanding what they read. I help them recognize main ideas, make inferences, and stay engaged with longer texts.
By middle school, reading demands get tougher. Students need to interpret tone, analyze structure, and support answers with evidence.
High schoolers often face complex nonfiction and literary texts. Together, we build strategies that boost comprehension and help them read with more purpose and confidence.

Understanding the Text
We work on strategies to help students identify main ideas, make inferences, and connect the pieces whether they’re reading fiction, nonfiction, or something in between.

Responding in Writing
Students learn how to go beyond basic answers and write thoughtful, structured responses using evidence from the text. This is an important skill for both schoolwork and tests.

Building Reading Stamina
I help students stay focused, pace themselves, and tackle longer texts without giving up. Over time, they start to approach reading with more purpose and less frustration.
