Writing Skills
In grades 4 and 5, students are just beginning to organize their thoughts into clear paragraphs. I help them build a strong foundation with sentence structure, transitions, and purpose.
Middle school is when writing becomes more analytical. Students learn to develop arguments, support ideas with evidence, and respond to literature through essays and constructed responses.
By high school, writing expectations increase. I guide students through research papers, literary analysis, and refining their voice so their writing feels confident and complete.
Getting Started
We use graphic organizers, examples, and flexible brainstorming techniques to help students who feel stuck at the start of an assignment.
Organizing and Structuring
Students learn how to build clear thesis statements, topic sentences, and paragraph flow without feeling overwhelmed.
Revising and Improving
We revise together in real time, focusing on clarity, grammar, and word choice using a shared Google Doc students can return to anytime.
